Why People Like Shopping at Jerry's Home Improvement Center
There are little people that have ever patronized at Jerry's Home Improvement Center. Of course not comparing to the number of people that patronized Lowe's or Home Depot. There is a difference though Jerry's offers as much merchandise as their competitors. There is only one Jerry's Home Improvement Centre which is owned independently and run by the original Jerry's family. Some said it is the largest independently owned hardware store in the United States. Independent Retailer For the last few years, many groups have began to protest the construction of "big box" stores and strips malls. They had the big share of the business and squeeze smaller retailers out of business. Despite competition from new competitors, Jerry's Home Improvement Centre has not gone out of business. Since chains purchase much more goods from manufacturers hence more bargaining power and able to negotiate better prices hence sell cheaper, therefore most times an independent store find it tough to match large chains on pricings. Moreover, many chain stores have the capabilities to sell those so called "loss leader" at a financial loss so as to lure customers into stores and get them in the habit of shopping there. Small retailers complain that this is unfair as some really huge retailers have enough capital to keep selling lots of loss leaders for the longest time. Some claim large stores are not as much a portion of the community as independent stores. The management is brought in from other communities, and the stores are often built on what had been tree-covered land, making lots of residents angry. Of course Jerry's Home Improvement Center shows up on many lists of companies sponsoring local events, and their management is active in the community; but then, their store is as big as any other. Customers know they will have a selection of goods as wide as in any home improvement store at Jerry's Home Improvement Center. Jerry's is a complete store with plants to light fixtures, and their advertisements promise to match any competitor's prices. For many people, there is something comfortable about shopping at a store like Jerry's where they know the employees and even the management personally. If there is ever a problem, they know they can easily communicate to the family that owns and operates the whole place.
